Thank you for visiting my page! I'm Saskatoon- based musician and music teacher Patricia Gakis and this is all about my journey though the world of music.

I've been playing music for as long as I can remember. In elementary school, I was involved with choir and ukulele and later starting the tenor saxophone when I was old enough to begin the band program. In high school, I also picked up the trombone. 

As an adult, I played in various community groups in Calgary and Saskatoon. I also picked up the guitar and recorder.

From 2009 to 2022, I was fortunate enough to play second tenor for the Toon Town Big Band in Saskatoon. From playing for swing dancers at 1 am to swing hard in my pyjamas at The Bassment, I had way too much fun. While I'm no longer able to play due to the ongoing pandemic, this experience made me grow so much as a musician and I miss everyone dearly. 

In 2016, I joined a small group of ukulele jammers and shortly after took over the group turning it into the Saskatoon Ukulele Players. Leading a group definitely grew my level of musicianship and despite the current situation, we are still going. 

Music has been such an important part of my life getting me through the bad times and giving me so many joyous experiences. It's for this reason that I began teaching music. I know how important it is and I love sharing everything I know.
